R.I.P. Fess Parker

18 Mar

Best known for his portrayals of Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone, veteran actor Fess Parker has died.  He was 85.

Since leaving his Hollywood days behind, Parker had been living in California with his wife, where he ventured into an entirely new career.  He bought a vineyard and was quite successful in his new venture in the winery business.

Sadly, Parker, who had been married to his wife Marcella for 50 years, died on her 84th birthday.

Parker’s memory will live on and so will the song that defined such a huge part of his life.  “Davy, Davy Crockett, king of the wild frontier.”

R.I.P. Peter Graves

CNN has reported that veteran actor, Peter Graves, has died at the age of 83 in Pacific Palisades, CA.

Graves, famous for his role in the film Airplane!, has been an active member of Hollywood for over 60 years.  He was also known for his TV work in shows such as Mission: Impossible and more recently, a recurring role on 7th Heaven.

Natural causes are suspected in his death and he is survived by a wife and three daughters.

R.I.P Corey Haim

10 Mar

One of the most popular and recognizable stars of the 1980′s has died today.  Corey Haim, star of movies License to Drive, Dream a Little Dream and Lucas, was 38.

Haim’s cause of death is still unconfirmed, but he has fought a lifelong battle with drugs.  Haim was apart of a phenomenon known as “The Coreys,” with his friend and co-star Corey Feldman.  They had many rough patches in their relationship over the years and even tried to work things out through the A&E reality show, The Two Coreys.

I grew up in the 80′s and loved Haim’s films.  Sadly, I can’t say this news is shocking as his drug battles have been just as associated with him as his film work has.
